What should I wear to my appointment?
At Full Function Remedial Therapies, your privacy and comfort are our top priorities. We recommend wearing comfortable clothing eg: activewear. We utilise proper draping techniques throughout your treatment, ensuring only the areas being worked on are exposed.
Do I have to undress completely?
Absolutely not! We design the treatment plan to accommodate your comfort level and preferences. If you prefer to remain clothed during your session, loose-fitting clothing that allows for easy movement is ideal. Think activewear pants, bike shorts, or exercise shorts and tops.

What if I'm concerned about massage oil residue on my clothes?
Oil is often used during remedial massage sessions to facilitate deeper tissue work. While we take care to minimise residue, it's a possibility. Our oil is water soluble but we recommend wearing comfortable clothes that you don't mind potentially having a small amount of oil on them afterwards.

How many sessions will I need?
The number of sessions you'll need depends on several factors, including:
-
The severity and nature of your condition: Acute injuries typically require fewer sessions compared to chronic pain conditions.
-
Your individual healing rate: Everyone heals at their own pace.
-
Your treatment goals: Whether you're seeking pain relief, improved mobility, or overall well-being will influence the treatment plan.
Here's a general guideline:
-
Acute injuries: You may experience noticeable improvement within 1-3 sessions, but additional sessions may be recommended for optimal healing and preventing future issues.
-
Chronic pain: Managing chronic pain often requires a more comprehensive approach. You might see progress within 4-6 sessions, but long-term management may involve ongoing maintenance sessions.
The best way to determine the ideal number of sessions for you is to discuss it with your therapist during your initial consultation. They will assess your specific needs and create a personalised treatment plan tailored to your unique situation. Your therapist will also monitor your progress and adjust the plan as needed.

Here are some additional points to consider:
-
Regular attendance is key: Consistent treatment sessions are crucial for maximising the benefits of therapy.
-
Home care matters: Your therapist may recommend specific stretches or exercises to complement your in-clinic treatment and promote faster healing.
-
Open communication is essential: Don't hesitate to discuss any questions or concerns you may have with your therapist throughout your treatment journey.
By working collaboratively with your therapist, you can achieve optimal results and get back to living a pain-free and active life.

What forms of payment do you accept?

Do you offer direct billing to insurance companies?
While direct billing to insurance companies may vary depending on your specific provider, we strive to make the billing process as convenient as possible for you.
-
HICAPS: We're proud to offer on-the-spot claims processing through HICAPS. This system allows us to electronically submit your private health insurance claims directly to your insurer, often resulting in immediate or near-immediate benefit application towards your treatment cost.
-
Please note: private health insurance rebates are NOT currently available for massage with Alysia.
Here are some additional tips for maximising your insurance coverage:
-
Contact your insurer: It's always best to check directly with your private health insurance provider to understand your specific coverage for remedial massage, laser therapy, (depending on the services you receive). They can advise you on your benefit limits, out-of-pocket expenses, and any pre-approval requirements.
-
Bring your private health insurance card: Please bring your private health insurance card to your appointment. This information will be required for processing your HICAPS claim.
-
We can help navigate the process: Our friendly staff is happy to assist you with any questions you may have regarding insurance billing. We can help you understand your estimated out-of-pocket costs and guide you through the claims process.
By working together, we can ensure you receive the most out of your treatment plan and maximise your insurance benefits.
